Red Mud Coffee is a for profit company with a social mindfulness. We feel responsible to take Nepal forward through our work and also to inspire others to take necessary steps in doing so in their own way. Many foreign countries already have recognized the potential in Nepali coffee, but the local market failed to recognize this. We wanted to fully tap this potential gap in the market and establish our own coffee trend in the local market. As a result of this passion, Red Mud Coffee was born. Red Mud appeals to the disfranchised youth, collaborators and hardworking professionals of Nepal who seek a place to groom their ideas, network, meet people and celebrate life. Like everywhere else in the world there are multiple brands competing in this space. We strive to become the coolest place to hangout for this young and energetic population, serving the best drinks and food at a reasonable price point. Red Mud Coffee started in 2012 with just 2 employees and currently employees over 45. Through rapid expansion Red Mud dreams to provide employment opportunities and skills to over 100 young Nepalese by the year 2018. With its multiple outlets (5 outlets in plan for Kathmandu) Red Mud strives to sell over 3 Tons of locally grown coffee to the local coffee aficionados.
